Lit.3321 M&W Chapter 7
Picture Books are part of our world. I have bought pictures for my children and it engages them to read. picture books can tell you how the story is going to end or you can draw conclusions by the pictures. When I read to my children I have them look at the pictures before I read and we start to make predictions about the story. Many pictures tell you the story and some of them just makes the story fun and the colors are out there. teachers should have a library full of picture books and age appropriate for there children so they can enjoy them. I believe these books are very important and we shouldneverfeel that we are to old for this type of books. We use these books as visual aids for all readers.

You are right about being able to figure out the ending of a story by the pictures. I think the kids like to be able to figure out the ending by themselves. Even as an adult i enjoy picture books. I like to read books to my small son and he says "duckie" or "birdie" or "ball". Sometimes when I am reading to him my eight year old will join us and he will start reading to him.
